The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to revitalize our systems of democracy and justice. We work to hold our political institutions and laws accountable to the twin American ideals of democracy and equal justice for all. Among our core priorities, we fight to protect voting rights, end mass incarceration, strengthen checks and balances, and preserve the rule of law.
We seek a Development Associate to join an ambitious, high performing, and collaborative Development Department. Our in-house team of nine professionals is charged with raising upward of $15 million annually from a solid, diverse base of supporters, including: national foundations and institutional funders; major donors and family foundations; direct mail and online contributors; and an annual gala event, the Brennan Legacy Awards Dinner. As the Center commemorates its 20th anniversary, we have launched a special campaign for two new initiatives, the Brennan Legacy Fund and the Inez Milholland Endowment for Democracy, as well as a Planned Giving program.
Reporting to the Vice President for Development, the Development Associate provides overall support for the department’s efforts. The Development Associate also assists in planning the annual Brennan Legacy Awards Dinner, which takes place each November.
